The 2009 Spring/Summer swim season will start on 4/27/09!
Have fun improving your swimming skills and learning new strokes with the Belchertown Stingrays!
We are excited to continue this season with our new head coach Andrew Berthaume.
Our team will be part of the Western Massachusetts Summer Swim League and the
season runs from April 27th through July 25th.
Register starts April 6th at the Belchertown Recreation Department.
The registration fee is $175 per child.
For families with more than 2 swimmers, the cost for each child after the first two is $85.00.
The first two weeks of practice are a trial period. If you are not sure you are ready to join the Stingrays Swim Team,
come and try it out (registration required first)! If any swimmer decides not to join the team, the full fee will be refunded through May 11, 2009.
All refunds must be cleared with the Recreation Dept before this date!
Kindergarten and 1st grade swimmers must be evaluated
by the head coach as well as the aquatics director on the first day of practice.
The requirement for participation is to swim one full length of the pool.
Meets usually last about 4 hours and are normally scheduled on Tuesday evenings.
Championships will be held on 07/25/2009
Practice is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Sunday evening times may be offered for additional individual skills improvement.
* Participants are requested to practice 3 days per week to get the most benefit from the program.
It is MANDATORY for ALL swimmers to shower before practice!
All swimmers may go to CHCS directly from school.
SRES students may take bus #19 to Chestnut Hill and Jabish Brook Students may take bus #1 to Chestnut Hill.
Stingrays will not assume responsibility for the children leaving Swift River or Jabish Brook en route to Chestnut Hill.
Practice will start at 3:00 and be staggered & structured according to age, ability, and arrival at practice!
Parents: if your swimmer will be riding the bus to the pool, you must write a note stating that your child is with the Stingray Swim Team.
In the note, you must also identify the bus number that is the appropriate one for your child.
BHS STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO JOIN THE TEAM!
