The 2008 Spring/Summer swim season started 4/28/07!
Have fun improving your swimming skills and learning new strokes with the Belchertown Stingrays!
Our team will be part of the Western Massachusetts Summer Swim League and the
season runs from April 28 through the end of July. Kindergarten and 1st grade swimmers must be evaluated
by the head coach as well as the aquatics director.
Register now at the Belchertown Recreation Department.
The registration fee is $175 per child.
For families with more than 2 swimmers, the cost for each child after the first two is $85.00.
Absolutely no refunds after Monday, May 12th. All refunds must be cleared with the Recreation Dept before this date!
The requirement for participation is to swim one full length of the pool.
Meets usually last about 4 hours and are normally scheduled on Tuesday evenings.
Championships will be on Saturday, July 26th.
The first two weeks of practice are a trial period. If you are not sure you are ready to join the Stingrays Swim Team,
come and try it out (registration required first)! If any swimmer decides not to join the team, the full fee will be refunded through May 12, 2008.
Practice is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with an occasional Tuesday.
Swimmers are expected to participate in a minimum of three of the weekday practice sessions.
Sunday evening times may be offered for additional individual skills improvement.
It is MANDATORY for ALL swimmers to shower before practice!
All swimmers may go to CHCS directly from school.
Practice will be staggered & structured according to age, ability, and arrival at practice!
Evaluation will take place on the first day of practice.
The Bronze & Silver groups will practice from 4:30 - 6:00.
The Gold group will practice from 3:00 - 4:30 for the first 2 weeks and from 3:00 - 5:00 thereafter.
Busses to transport to the pool:
Swift River - Bus 19
Jabish Brook - Bus 1
Parents: if your swimmer will be riding the bus to the pool, you must write a note stating that your child is with the Stingray Swim Team.
In the note, you must also identify the bus number that is the appropriate one for your child.
Stingrays will not assume responsibility for the children leaving Swift River, Jabish, or BHS en route to Chestnut Hill.
Bring a friend! If they commit you receive a swim T-shirt of your choice.
BHS STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO JOIN THE TEAM!
